Deciding to install a custom roof on your home or business is a great way to add a unique touch and reflect your personal style. Custom roofs can offer numerous benefits, from increased curb appeal to greater energy efficiency, but with seemingly endless options to choose from, deciding where to start can be a bit of a head-scratcher.

Three Rising Trends for Custom Roofs We’ve Been Loving

At Winters Roofing Inc., we love keeping on top of the latest trends in custom roofs, so we thought we’d share a few of our recent favorites to consider if you’re installing or replacing your roof.

  1. Lighter Shades – It’s no wonder lighter roof colors are becoming more popular as we continue to focus more on energy efficiency as a society. Options like beige, light greys and blues, and even white for custom roofs are gaining traction due to their ability to help a building reflect heat and keep the building cooler.
  2. Natural Materials – Keeping with the increasing desire to be environmentally friendly, natural roofing materials like slate and cedar are coming back into style as a counter to asphalt shingles, which are typically made from refined materials. Another benefit of cedar and slate custom roofs is that they’re long-lasting; cedar shakes can last between 30 to 50 years, and slate roofs have been known to last for over 100 years!
  3. Metal Roofing – Custom roofs made from metal have been steadily gaining popularity, and the trend shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. Metal roofs are known for being both durable (lasting anywhere from 20 to 70 years) and aesthetically pleasing, coming in a vast array of colors to suit any taste or architectural style.
